Never in my life have I been to Munchies. I had only learned about it on Monday, June 9th. There is currently some kind of BTS scavenger hunt of some kind. I do not know what it is as I was there for the ride and food that just happened to take me to Munchies...itsallgood.
And in all honestly, I'm certain trying to find Munchies would be hard. I would consider it a whole in the wall kind of barbecue restaurant. But it is easy to find if you know where to find the "Callaghan Square". There is not much that could be considered a recognizable landmark or a neighborhood, but is near a 99¢ Only store and a Family Dollar. Munchies looks a bit run down on the outside, but inside it is actually homey. Currently, is a bit different because of the BTS events going on, it has a lot of decors specifically for that. But after a short talk with one of the employees, whom by the way was extreme nice and very informative when my mom asked about his work, there are games like checkers a pop corn machine and occasionally some karaoke. Walls were painted red and pop art style paintings were hanging on all the walls. And since it is technically a barbecue restaurant I recognized a lot of smell that remind me of my trips to Mexico; tortillas, chicken, and spices. And the Menu defiantly compliments that, offering fried pickles, fries and burgers and pork sandwiches and many more. But I narrowed it down to just a Grilled Chicken sandwich with fries to-go. Getting my meal was simple and fast, the worker only took 10 minutes. And yes, it was wonderful. I didn't have breakfast to is very satisfying. The bread was fluffy and crispy and have a nice aroma and lovely taste of butter. The chicken was seasoned with just enough spice for a brunch. Although the fries were a little plain without a sauce to add with it, but it was good all the same.
I would definitely go to Munchies...itsallgood again. It is a good place to get some lunch and the prices are great (the highest being $8.99). The place is great to reserve for birthday parties for children, it is a well sized establishment to keep it organized. And if I understood correctly there are a handful of employees who are huge fans of the boy band BTS, so if you are a fan I recommend going to see there are posters, pictures and trinkets.
8/10 would go again!!!!
I really enjoyed the way you described the food, how the food smelt, and the description of the bread. That is something that I struggle with and need help on when writing about things. It was a very enjoyable and easy read, good job!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this place, but it sounds very interesting. I love that everything is so Cheap! And the food seems so simple yet delicious. I love places that don't go over the top with their menu and keep the quality high. I've been craving some Pulled Pork Sandwiches, so I'll have to give the Munchies... it 'sallgood a try!
ReplyDeleteThis was a very uplifting and honest review—thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed how you described the vibe inside Munchies—it sounds like a hidden gem. I really enjoy barbecue and this sounds like its up my alley, i love the prices!
ReplyDeleteI've been to a few restaurants the way you described Munchies. I consider myself lucky if I can ever find a hole in the wall restaurant that looks like its been through its years, the fact they're still standing usually means good food and good service. The low prices and way you described that sandwich will have be putting it on my go to list.
