Sweet Potatoes Baby!

Here are the three baby food versions of sweet potatoes I sampled.

Today I chose to sample three different versions of sweet potatoes.  I actually decided to taste test baby versions of sweet potatoes!  By saying baby versions I mean to say that I to tried out baby food!  I decided this because my daughter Tenley loves sweet potatoes, and I was interested to try them out for myself.  The brands I tried were Earth’s Best, Gerber, and Parent’s Choice.
To conceal the brands for taste testing I asked my mom to label the bottoms of three small bowls and the three sweet potatoes’ containers without me looking.  She labeled them, BF 1, BF 2, and BF 3.  “BF” stood for baby food, and the numbers represented each different sample.  She made it so that the BF 1 sample of sweet potatoes was put in the BF 1 bowl, and the BF 2 sample of sweet potatoes was put in the BF 2 bowl and so on.  This enabled me to identify and match up the containers to the samples in the bowls later on.  I drank water in between the samples to prevent flavors from mingling.
Here are the labels I had my mom put on the containers and bowls to conceal  the  brands. It enabled me to  later identify each sample paired with its brand.

BF 1 had a burnt orange tint to it.  It appeared a bit gritty, and it looked gelatin-like in texture.  According to the appearance, I assumed it would taste too thick and sweet for my taste buds.  BF 2 was a dull shade of orange. It appeared smooth in texture.  It seemed to be a perfect texture balance between thick enough, but not too creamy.  Judging by its appearance, I assumed the sample of BF 2 would taste sugary but not too overpowering for my taste buds.  I assumed it would be a smooth taste.  BF 3 was a very light shade of orange.  It almost looked yellow.  It was very similar to the color of Velveeta cheese. The texture of it appeared very creamy, and I assumed that its light color represented a powerless, bland taste.
BF 1 had a surprisingly bland and bitter taste.  It tasted like cardboard mixed with sour jelly, and it was chewy and chalky on my taste buds.  I could hardly swallow the small serving of  “sweet” potatoes.  BF 2 had a very light sugary taste which was similar to what I had assumed.  It went down smooth, and I was pleased with the sweet aftertaste it left on my taste buds.  I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh, smooth, and slightly syrupy taste of BF 3.  It was the most gratifying of the three sweet potatoes’ samples on my taste buds.  BF 3 was the winner of my taste buds! There was absolutely nothing bland about the BF 3 sample which is why it easily beat out the BF 1 sample.  Also, BF 3’s candy-like and sugary-like satisfying tastes left me with more than a pleased impression.  BF 2 was smooth and sweet, but BF 3 left my taste buds wanting more.
Overall I was surprised that I actually enjoyed more than one sample of a sweet potatoes baby food.  BF 1 was Earth’s Best brand.  I will never purchase it again because of its bitter and chewy tastes and for the sake of my daughter’s taste buds.  BF 2 was the Gerber version of sweet potatoes.  It was a satisfying amount of sweet, and it was the smoothest tasting of the samples.  I would purchase it again.  BF 3 was Parent’s Choice brand, and it offered a generous amount of sweet sensations and tasted freshly made.  I would definitely purchase this product of sweet potatoes again for my myself and for my daughter as well.
